Veganuary: Vegan Pizza

I picked up some Vegan cheese which isn'tgreat on it's own but perfect melted on Pizza. The Second of my Veganuary Vids and an excellent excuse to cover the basics of making bread dough and a pizza sauce!

 

Ingredients

  • 225 ml Lukewarm Water

  • 7 g Dry Active Yeast

  • 375g g Wholemeal flour (sieved)

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar

  • 2 Cloves of Garlic (Diced)

  • 1 Red Onion (Half Diced; Half Chopped into Strings)

  • 1 Can of Tomatoes

  • 1 Tsp of Paprika

  • 1 Tsp of Cayenne Pepper

  • 1 Tsp of Oregano

  • 1Tbsp of White Wine Vinegar

  • 1 Red Pepper (Chopped)

  • 1 Handful of Spinach

  • 1 Tbsp of Sweetcorn

  • 1 Tbsp of Jalapenos

  • 50g of Vegan Mozzarella

Step 1

Prep!

Start by adding your yeast to your water and sugar. When it foams add it to your flour with 1 tbsp of Olive Oil. Combine it all together until it's one mass and kneed into one lump free dough piece. Prep your other veg while it proofs in a bowl that you've greased with the rest of your oil for a full hour.

 

Step 2

Make the Sauce!

To make the Sauce fry off Garlic and your diced half of Onion. Add your Tomatoes before adding your Spices, Oregano and Vinegar. Season with Salt and Pepper before reducing down to a thick sauce.

 

Step 3

Add Your Toppings!

Roll out your proofed dough into a circle. Add to a floured pizza tray. Spread your sauce, veggies, and cheese over the base, and put into a pre-heated oven at 200 degrees Celsius.

 

Step 4

Serve!

Bake for 15-20 Minutes and enjoy your delicious Animal Product free Pizza!
