Dinner by Dice: Beans on Toast

The next recipe from Dinner by Dice. The Recipe Brief was make something as a student classic that was warm and quick. Serving Chorizo Beans, with home made Garlic Bread, I’m all about this recipe.

  • 1 Can Pinto Beans

  • 1 Can Kidney Beans

  • 1 Red Onion (Diced)

  • 1 Bunch Parsley (Chopped)

  • 7 Ciabattas (Diced)

  • 2 Cartons Tomato Passata

  • 5 Cloves Garlic (Diced)

  • 1 Lime worth of Juice

  • 1 Can Cannellini Beans

  • 50 g Butter

  • 1 Yellow Pepper (Diced)

  • 1 Chorizo Sausage (Diced)

  • 1 tsp Honey


Start by prepping your Veg and Chorizo. Add the Chorizo to a dry hot pan over a high heat. Cook until it’s caramelised before adding your veg.

Make Your Beans!

And your Tomato Passata and then season with Salt and Pepper. Throw in your Lime Juice and Honey before are adding all your Beans. Leave to simmer and thicken up.

Make Garlic Bread!

Slice up your Ciabatta and griddle on a hot pan for about a minute. While that’s going on mix 2 of your diced Cloves of Garlic with your Parsley and Butter. Melt in a microwave and spread over the top of your Bread.


Serve up your Ciabatta with Beans poured over the top garnished with Spring Onions and more Parsley. Enjoy your Spicey Concoction and let me know how you get on.
