Juicy Lucy Recipe!
Filmed May 2019. Well worth it at the time.
One of Minnesota’s finest Dishes. A cheese stuffed burger accompanied with a milkshake made with a classic staple of the British Sweet World- The Humble Jaffa Cake. Dig. In. (Serves 4)
Ingredients
The Burger
500g of 12% Fat Beef Mince/ Ground Beef
1 tsp of Garlic Powder
2tsps of Chipotle Paste
Salt and Pepper
120g of Mozzarella Cheese (Sliced)
80g of Sharp Cheddar (Sliced)
20g of Jalapenos
1 Red Onion (Chopped)
1tbsp of Brown Sugar
1tbsp of Apple Cider Vinegar
Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber and Sriracha Mayo for Garnish
4 Brioche Buns
The Milkshake
8 Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream
20 Jaffa Cakes
400ml of Skimmed Milk
Step 1
Prep your Pattie Mix!
Mix your Garlic Powder, and Chipotle Paste with Salt and Pepper in a Bowl with your Meat until you get an even mix. Grab a Golf Ball sized Portion of Pattie Mix and spread out int the base of your Pattie. Add your Cheese and Jalapenos before sealing with another portion of your Pattie Mix. Repeat 4 times.
Step 2
Cook your patties!
Fry off your Patties in a searingly hot Pan for 3 minutes on each side before transferring to a Baking Tray and placing into an oven at 150 Degrees Celsius and bake for 8 minutes.
Step 3
Make your Glazed onions
In the same Pan you fried your Burgers, add Onions and sweat off before adding Brown Sugar and Pepper. Let them get super sweet and sticky before adding in your Vinegar.
Step 4
Stack!
Toast your Buns in the Pan after the Onions are done. Add whatever veggies you want to the Base (for that I go with Sriracha Mayo, Lettuce, Cucumber, and Tomato) top with your Burger and Onions.
Step 5
Milkshake time!
Bend together your Milk, Ice Cream and Jaffa Cakes. It’s that simple.
Enjoy this recipe, it was a buunch of fun to make and super delicious to eat. give it a go and let me know how you get on.
